Any recommendations for in ground vinyl stair gripes stairs are very slippery ?!? Lots of falls on the 1st day!?
jill: My friend has her vinyl liner over her steps and omg very slippery…the only thing I have heard is to get bathtub non skid sticker things but the thought of that makes my stomach turn….hand rail???
val: We have a hand rail already, I was hoping there was something else made for pools, I can’t believe how slippery it is!
kim: This what I’m concerned about. Of course my PB didn’t tell me I could have had a finish on the liner that would be like a grip on the steps until after I ordered my liner.
val: r u kidding me this is a thing that could have been ordered?!?
kim: yes! It’s about 400 extra to get a textured portion put on the steps.
rebecca: mine didn’t either. I assumed they automatically added the gripping on liner covered steps.
kristin: Val yes, I ordered textured stairs for my liner that was installed in 2018. My previous liner, however, wasn’t slippery at all on the stairs. Make sure you have no algae growing. That could be the culprit to the slippery stairs even if you don’t see the algae. Brush them well and see if they are still slippery.
mc: I thought they used textured vinyl for ledges, stairs etc? Our builder said they have to use a texture. Maybe it’s the liner brand?
step: Our pool was just finished and the liner is textured on the steps and benches. Not slippery at all. It’s a GLI liner. I thought they all came like this. What brand is your liner?
bro: Step, same with us.
tena: We have a Latham liner and it too is textured on steps and ledges.
andria: We cut bath mats.
rusty: Brush the steps and make sure water is balanced and this should prevent slippery steps.
