Swimming Pool : What can I do to get the pump running again?
I’ve never owned a pool before so I have no idea what I did wrong. I have a 19k gal inground pool with no shut off valves. It’s literally one pipe in to the pump and one pipe back out from the sand filter.. I set up the attachments to the pool vacuum and stuck the hose infront of the jets to get the water and air thru and cleaned the skimmer basket. I shut the pump off to switch it to waste (it’s super dirty and we just used floculant, we’ve just been able to get it “opened” last week) and the pump lost all suction and wont run on any settings and has no PSI. I filled the pump with water to prime it but it didnt work. What could this be? What can I do to get the pump running again?
eric: Make sure it’s back on filter and prime the pump again. It could possible take a few times to get the pump going again.
jean: eric should I fill the pump basket thing up first to the top with water and then turn the pump on?.
jean: I tried that. It’s still not priming. I’m gonna call the pool guy tomorrow bc the clip he showed us last week seems like it’s broken inside the skimmer basket.
I think that pin is broken. Its supposed to be on the side where that long plastic piece is.
